Oil companies will be implementing a new system, Delivery Authentication Code (DAC), wherein, the home delivery of a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder will require an OTP (one-time-password) from next month, i.e., November 1.
As per reports, the DAC process for home delivery will be first implemented in 100 smart cities and will also be extended to other cities, if the system works efficiently in these cities. Also, the pilot project has already been implemented in Jaipur in Rajasthan.
This system has been introduced to prevent the theft of cylinders of cooking gas. Also, it will help them to identify the right customer so that the cylinder is delivered to the right person.
As per reports, this system will not be applicable for commercial cylinders.
